Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery is based in the Heart of Wisconsin’s Dairyland in the town of Ellsworth. We’re known as the “Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin”, a designation bestowed on us in 1984 by Governor Anthony S. Earl.
Our cooperative is 250 dairy farm families strong. These farm families are more than the producers of our milk, they’re the owners of our organization and as such have a deep and profound interest in our success and producing products of the highest quality. That’s a good thing for our customers.
Our Cooperative consists of three production facilities. Our Ellsworth, Wisconsin facility specializes solely in the production of our world-famous All Natural White Cheddar Cheese Curds, both natural and flavored, our All Natural Cheddar Cheese Curd Crumbles and sweet whey powder. We accept only farmer certified rBST free milk from which we produce about 180,000 pounds of 100% All Natural Premium Cheddar Cheese Curds daily. Trust us, that’s a lot of cheese!
Our Menomonie, Wisconsin, production facility manufacturers over 80 varieties of small-batch artisan cheeses, including our award-winning Red Rind Muenster, Wisconsin Brick and Hot Pepper Jack varieties. Retail consumers will find our cheeses under the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery label in grocery stores and cheese shops, as well our retail locations in Ellsworth and Menomonie, and online through our website.
In 2018, Wohlt Creamery, in New London, WI, joined our family. Wohlt Creamery represents a 60-year cheese-making tradition. At our New London facility the customization of process cheese products is our specialty. Quality and innovation are woven into our culture as we service the needs of foodservice, retail deli, and food manufacturers.
